On Friday, July 23rd, The Richards Firm volunteered at Hamilton Urban Gardens, also known as HUGS. We endured hot, humid weather and helped move branches for an art installation on site. We also dug up a number of bushes and trees to pot them for replanting elsewhere.
HUGS is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to urban agriculture, community gardening, health and nutritional education, non-traditional gardening methods, and improving access to affordable food. HUGS is located at 545 South Front Street in the heart of downtown Hamilton.
HUGS has an impressive setup that includes a number of greenhouses packed to the brim with plants that provide vegetables to be distributed to food pantries in the Hamilton, Ohio area. The amount of produce that HUGS provides to the local Butler County community is truly astounding.

Making This Year Better Than The Last

Our day with HUGS was hot and sweaty. You will notice that we are not providing the picture of us as the sweaty messes that we were at the end of our experience. The experience could not have gone better. We enjoyed learning about HUGS and our community and meeting more people who are truly invested in Hamilton, Ohio.
