The Richards Firm Supports the InsideOut Studio

The Richards Firm is excited to announce its support of fellow downtown Hamilton business and neighbor, InsideOut Studio. For anyone who has not been to the InsideOut Studio’s retail space to shop the art produced by its artists, you should plan to visit! InsideOut Studio is an important part of a movement bringing vitality and revitalization back to the heart of Hamilton.

InsideOut is a contemporary art studio producing fresh works daily.  They provide a supportive studio environment for artists with developmental disabilities to produce, market, and receive income from their art as they gain confidence in their abilities. The InsideOut retail store has an art studio in the adjacent space where artists receive individualized attention from staff that are professional working artists.

InsideOut Studio provides quality art materials in many mediums such as glass, clay, painting, mosaics and other mixed media. They also provide adaptive equipment and teaching methods based on the artist’s specific needs allowing for the least restrictive environment in the studio. Their staff exposes the artists to the works of well-known artists, exhibitions, and art history. They are open to experimenting with any media that our artists would like to explore.

InsideOut Studio is a social enterprise of Inspiration Studios supported through a partnership with the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities. They have around 50 artists that work in the studio on a consistent basis, several working independently. Their artists are provided professional opportunities to exhibit and sell their work. Each artist receives 50% of all their artworks sold. The remaining 50% goes back into the studio budget to pay for supplies and operational expenses.

The History of InsideOut Studio

InsideOut Studio was conceived in 2006 by a team of Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities staff. After consulting several professional artists and similar studios, and writing grants to both the Ohio Arts Council and the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council, studio staff were hired and InsideOut Studio began.

The studio has grown rapidly, including opening their own retail store and moving the studio into the adjacent space. InsideOut Studio is an integral part of a bustling business district. Their artists continue to exhibit in galleries throughout the area including The Fitton Center for Creative Arts, Middletown Arts Center, Oxford Community Arts Center, Fairfield Community Arts Center, The Pendleton, Art Beyond Boundaries, Town and Country Fine Arts Center, and Venue 222.

They have partnered with area businesses, including Fort Hamilton Hospital, Butler County Educational Service Center, Straight Shot Coffee, Kona Bistro, and Mercy Health Partners, to exhibit art work. They participate in area art shows, Operation Pumpkin, Pyramid Hills Fine Arts Show, Lakota East Holiday Arts and Crafts Show, Barker Ornaments, Hueston Woods Fine Arts Show, and Fairfield Art in the Park.

InsideOut Studio continues to expand and has a growing array of beautiful, one of a kind artwork. They realize that there are many new and exciting opportunities for their artists both locally and nationally that will mutually benefit partnering organizations.

At The Richards Firm, we are proud to support the work being done by this wonderful, local studio.
