Thomson Reuters has acknowledged Rhys since he was first selected as a Rising Star for
attorneys under 40 in 2017. He was selected six years in a row until he was named a Super
Lawyer for the first time in 2023.
Super Lawyers is a rating service addressing outstanding lawyers who have attained a high-
degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The objective of the Super Lawyers
multiphase selection process is to create a credible, comprehensible and diverse listing of
outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource when prospective clients search for legal
counsel.
The Super Lawyers process begins with nominations from other attorneys. From there, Thomson
Reuters independently researches candidates to confirm and assess their achievements. The third
step of the selection process is peer evaluation by practice area, referred to as the “blue ribbon
review.”

Verdicts/settlements
Position with law firm
Bar and/or professional activity
Pro bono and community service
Scholarly lectures/writings

And other outstanding achievements
Only 5 percent of attorneys are selected as Super Lawyers each year.
